Photo and Film Club

Vision : To inspire creativity and innovation through the art of photography, fostering a community of passionate individuals who capture, preserve, and communicate ideas, emotions, and stories that reflect both technical excellence and artistic expression.

Mission: The Photo Club aims to provide a platform for students to explore and enhance their skills in photography and visual storytelling while blending creativity with technology through the use of modern tools, techniques, and innovations. It seeks to document and showcase college events, achievements, and cultural moments with professionalism and creativity, while nurturing talent, teamwork, and leadership among students. Furthermore, the club promotes photography as a powerful medium of self-expression, awareness, and social impact within and beyond the campus.

Members : The Photo Club has around 20 members representing all departments, ranging from beginners to experienced photographers. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in photography. Members use a variety of equipment including digital cameras, film cameras, point-and-shoots, rangefinders, video cameras and mobile phones. Owning a camera is not a requirement only a passion for photography is needed.

Monthly Meetings : The club conducts free monthly meetings, open to all departments. Anyone interested is welcome to join and experience the club. Meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month at 3:15 p.m. in the library discussion room.

Activities : Club activities are planned during the annual meeting conducted in the second week of June, with suggestions and decisions made collectively by interested members. The coordinators take responsibility for arranging and implementing the activities finalized in the meeting.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1) Membership Eligibility : Open to all students and faculty with an interest in photography regardless of experience level.

2) Respect & Discipline : Members must maintain discipline, respect othersâ?? opinions, and uphold the dignity of the club.

3) Active Participation : Members are expected to actively participate in meetings, events, and assigned activities.

4) Punctuality : All members should attend monthly meetings and report on time for photography assignments/events.

5) Event Coverage : When assigned to cover a college event, members must perform their duties responsibly and professionally

6) Equipment Handling : Members using club/college photography equipment should handle it with care and return it in proper condition.

7) Content Usage : Photos/videos taken during club activities are the property of the club/college and cannot be used for personal promotions without prior permission.

8) Creativity & Originality : Members should avoid plagiarism and ensure that all submitted work is their original creation.

9) Dress Code & Conductâ : While covering official college events, members should follow proper dress code and maintain professional behavior

10) Decision Making : Major decisions regarding activities, exhibitions, or competitions will be taken collectively in meetings under the guidance of the coordinator.

11) Absenteeism : Members unable to attend a meeting or event must inform the coordinator/student leader in advance.

12) Code of Ethics : No photos or videos should be taken that may harm the reputation of the college, faculty, or students.
