Department of Information Technology
The Department of Information Technology was started in the year 2008. The intake of the department is 60. The Department has 8 eminent faculty among them 1 are having with Ph.D - Doctorate degrees, 7 are having M.Tech degrees in CSE, IT, IST and Software Engineering.
The Department has 1 Professors, 3 Associate Professor 1 Senior Assistant Professor and 1Assistant Professor. The department is conducting Infosys-Spring Board to train the students so as to make them industry ready. NPTEL online certification course and IIT Bombay Spoken tutorials are initiated in the institute and many from IT department were certified in various courses.
All the faculty members are enthusiastically involved in research activities and at present 2 faculty members are pursuing their Ph Ds.
The faculty published more than 15 research in various conferences, national and international journals. The Department is periodically organizing seminars, hands-on workshops, faculty development programs and guest lecturers for the benefit of both the students and the staff.
All Passed out students from the department got more than 75% of placements.The unique feature of the department is most of the passed out students are going abroad to pursue their higher education(Masters Program) and are preferring to go to USA.2020 passed out students got good placements with highest package of 10 LPA. 2021 passed out students are placed with highest package of 10 and 7.5 LPA of NALA Robotics and some of the students are placed in IBM. In 2016 and 2023 our student bagged the First Prize worth Rs 50,000/- in Engineer ka Mahasangram and event conducted by yoURfest-a Techno Cultural symposium organised by the college.
Students are actively participating in APSSDC&Eduskills skill training programs and they are also offered certification courses. Students are also encouraged to take active part in Internships. In- order to enhance creative abilities among the students the department has established an incubation centre. Personality Development programs are frequently conducted to enrich the students. These programmes help in imparting and developing soft skills which help the students to improve the commitment at all levels.
Internet band width 100 Mbps (1:1) leased line is available, supported by MyGuru Online and BSNL with Firewall providing security. The department has well established Class rooms, E-Classroom, Seminar Hall and Laboratories equipped with LCD/LED Projectors and with good Acoustics. Faculty members are encouraged to involve in Research activities through four Research Groups and are actively publishing papers in Quality Journals and applying for R&D projects, seed Money
